Ghost tours, history tours, paranormal investigations, and horror-film festivals. All held at the historic Mayday Hills Lunatic Asylum, in the midst of eleven hectares of heritage gardens.

History Tours:
While the sun shines, we share our knowledge of the historic buildings of the former Mayday Hills Lunatic Asylum. You’ll hear stories of the building, the opening of the facility, the many patients we still know about, and the final years of the Lion of Beechworth, as the asylum was known. This 90-minute experience encompasses memories, local tales, urban myths, and stories of the patients and the treatments they suffered.

Ghost & Paranormal Tours:
After darkness falls, we begin our tours of the dark, haunted buildings of the former Mayday Hills Lunatic Asylum. Your host will guide you through the many abandoned hallways, cells, common rooms, surgeries, and punishment areas where so much horror has occurred over its history. The ghost tour encompasses facility history, memories, local tales, urban myths, and stories of the supernatural. Our paranormal investigations take place when all is quiet and the dead things open their eyes. We take groups on two- or three-hour investigations to attempt to find out who or what haunts the foreboding asylum.

From experienced ghost-hunters to those who merely wonder at the whispered tales of hauntings, we promise an entertaining exploration of the most haunted areas of all. Every group gains access to the latest equipment, maybe allowing you to find out more than you care to.

Let our experienced guides tell you all the secrets of the place, relax in a comfortable lounge chair to watch a horror double-feature in our lovely theatre-cinema, or take advantage of our catering and accommodation options for monthly sleepovers.

*Bookings are essential for all of our experiences.
